Manitoba Athletes Add Three More Medals at Summer Games

Team ManitobaTeam Manitoba surpassed their previous medal count at the 2013 Canada Summer Games on Wednesday in Sherbrooke, Quebec.

Provincial athletes racked up three more medals, bringing the hardware count so far to 27 — three more than they brought home in 2009.

Athletes Hannah Guttormson and Stephanie Lowrie won gold in the female C-2 5000m — the first time Team Manitoba has ever won gold in women’s canoe/kayak at the event.

Tom Sherwin won bronze in the male C-1 5000m, earning him his third bronze medal of the Games.

Hannah Guttormson won bronze in female C-1 5000m.

Competition wraps up on August 17.
