Winnipeg Girl, 2, Killed in Single-Vehicle Rollover

RCMP Crest LogoA two-year-old Winnipeg girl was killed Sunday after a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 50.

The crash happened shortly after 6:30 p.m. just south of Langruth in the RM of Lakeland when the vehicle lost control and rolled while travelling southbound.

RCMP say the vehicle was carrying six people at the time. One woman and a five-year-old girl were airlifted to Winnipeg with undetermined injuries at the time. The woman is being treated for serious injuries, while the girl is listed in stable condition.

The 25-year-old male driver, a woman and six-year-old girl were taken to hospital in Portage la Prairie and listed in stable condition. The six-year-old has since been released from hospital. The sixth occupant — a two-year-old girl — was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Police are continuing to investigate.
