The Winnipeg Blue Bombers added import receiver Aaron Kelly and import quarterback Jason Boltus to the practice roster on Tuesday.
Kelly spent the last two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, starting eight games in his rookie year in 2011 and catching 27 passes for 383 yards and two touchdowns. Kelly played in six games and recorded 11 receptions last season for 107 yards and one touchdown. He was released prior to this year’s training camp.
Boltus spent three seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats from 2009-2011, suiting up as the third-string quarterback in his final season and completing five of 15 passes for 48 yards.
The Bombers also signed non-import kicker/punter Brody McKnight. The 23-year-old was selected in the first round (8th overall) by the Montreal Alouettes in 2011 and has since spent time with the Als, the Edmonton Eskimos, the Saskatchewan Roughriders and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
Earlier in the day, the Blue Bombers also signed import wide receiver Mike Sims-Walker.
At the same time, the Bombers released import receiver Isaac Anderson and non-import kicker Justin Palardy.
