One of the deep-pocket entrepreneurs from CBC’s “Dragons’ Den” is in Winnipeg today to meet with like-minded up-and-comers and tour the local offices of AssentWorks and Ramp Up Manitoba.

David Chilton will take in an open house on the 3rd floor of 125 Adelaide Street from 6-7:30 p.m. tonight, where he’ll meet with some of Manitoba’s innovators and listen to business pitches.

Greg Moneta, mechanical engineering technologist at AssentWorks, will have Chilton’s ear for a private one-on-one pitch.

“Products appearing on Dragon’s Den and many others turned to the AssentWorks community to advance their designs, prepare for production and find paths to market. Since we opened in October 2011, products prototyped at AssentWorks have been sold worldwide and even made it into the space program,” said co-founder Kerry Stevenson.

Members will have the opportunity to pitch Chilton their ideas/business plans and receive invaluable feedback, including ideas for mobile apps, retail products and other innovations.
