A Winnipeg police officer was dragged by an ATV after making a traffic stop on Monday.
An off-road vehicle was pulled over in the area McGillvray Boulevard and Road #7 East in the RM of McDonald at around 11:20 a.m.
Police say the driver became uncooperative about his identity and was placed under arrest. At that time, the driver accelerated his ATV and hit the officer, later dragging him 15 feet causing non-life threatening injuries.
A 25-year-old man has been charged with assaulting a peace officer, flight from police, escaping custody, and a number of ATV-related infractions.
He was released on a promise to appear.
