A rash of unusual thefts around Winnipeg hasn’t slowed down, with Winnipeg police now searching for a pair of stolen plaques.

The plaques went missing sometime before August 23 from the front of a building in the 100 block of Bannatyne Avenue.

The two plaques include the words “Historic Winnipeg” and “The Brokerage Bannatyne East.”

Last week, a wooden spiked steering wheel from the PaddleWheel Princess tour boat was stolen. Prior to that, someone made off with 320 wooden logs from Fort Gibraltar in St. Boniface.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at (204) 986-6668 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
