Once a prohibited part of the game day experience at this season’s Winnipeg Blue Bomber games, the football club has come up with plans to allow tailgating at Investors Group Field.
The Blue Bombers’ next home game on Sunday, September 8 (Banjo Bowl vs. Saskatchewan Roughriders) will feature two new tailgating zones. One zone for 18+ fans will open at 11 a.m. and include a beer garden serviced by the Shark Club, food trucks from across the city and a Blue Bomber alumni autograph session. A family-friendly zone on the Plaza — located at the southeast corner of the stadium grounds — will feature inflatables, football-themed drills, a dunk tank and other activities aimed at pleasing the entire family.
“A football game at Investors Group Field is more than just about the football and we want everyone to come enjoy the pregame party,” said Blue Bomber acting CEO Wade Miller. “With specific zones designated for families and those that are of legal drinking age, we believe we have every Blue Bomber fan covered.”
The Bombers-Roughriders game on the 8th is also now sold-out, according to the football club.
The Banjo Bowl weekend will kick off on Friday, September 6 at the concert bowl at McPhillips Station Casino from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. where fans can meet players and get their pictures taken with the Banjo Bowl Trophy.
