Besides the U of M Bisons football team, it was also a successful weekend for the Bison men’s golf team.
Manitoba’s Josh Wytinck won the individual title after firing a 134 score (65-69) for -10 final result and a two-stroke victory over fellow Bison teammate Scott Mazur.
The team competed at the 2013 Concordia Invite two-day tournament held at Meadows Golf Course in Moorhead, MN from August 30-31.
Both Wytinck and Mazur broke the Bison team record for lowest score by a male individual in a single round (previous record was 67 by Charlie Boyechko set at 2012 Concordia Invite). In the first round, Mazur posted a stunning 62 (-10) while Wytinck fired a 65 (-7).
“It was a great start for the team. We are very pleased with so many outstanding scores. Both Josh and Scott played very well and we set three team records in the process,” said Bison golf head coach Garth Goodbrandson. “This is a great result for all of the Bisons golfers against a competitive field and should be an exciting Fall season.”
