University of WinnipegA shortage of classroom space at the University of Winnipeg will have some students studying at the Winnipeg Art Gallery for the fall and winter terms.

The WAG’s Muriel Richardson Auditorium will double as a classroom for students in the faculties of arts, science, economics and the U of W’s Professional and Applied Continuing Education Division.

The nearby accommodation allows the university to reduce waiting lists for popular classes. Just under 400 students in total will attend various classes at WAG this fall, which about 80 of those students would have otherwise been on waiting lists.

The WAG will also provide free admission passes to the students attending classes there, to bursary fund recipients through the UWinnipeg’s Opportunity Fund, and others.
