Downtown will turn into a giant street party beginning today as the third annual ManyFest gets underway.
Until Sunday, September 8, Broadway between Osborne Street and Main Street will see a series of popular festivals rolled into one as put on by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ.
“ManyFest gives Broadway the attention it deserves,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown BIZ. “A very diverse complement of performances and activities will give Broadway energy and create an effervescent atmosphere to draw people in. There’s no better way to tell the great story of Winnipeg than through our great festivals, great musicians and artists, and great community.”
ManyFest features a Giant Movie in the Park, Lights on Broadway, Wine and Beer Festival, Big Dance on Broadway, Farmers’ and Artisans’ Markets, Ciclovia, MiniFest Kids’ Zone, Mini Olympics with Winnipeg Olympian Janine Hanson, and the Winnipeg 10 & 10 race. Talented local musicians, artists and buskers will fill the rest of the space to provide entertainment.
New this year is the first ever Downtown Food Truck Wars. Located on Memorial Boulevard and Broadway, the tasty competition will celebrate Winnipeg’s expanding mobile food scene. Participants include On a Roll Sandwich Truck, Stuff It, Tot Wheels, Lovey’s BBQ, Le Garage, Vilai’s Spice Box, Habanero Sombrero, Pimp My Rice, Healthy Eats, The Poutine King, Barbie & Gabi’s Specialteez, and Little Bones.
