Home-building guru Mike Holmes is adding to Winnipeg’s construction boom with a new project in Fort Rouge.
The Holmes Group announced Friday the development of The Yards at Fort Rouge, featuring energy efficient townhomes within walking distance to rapid transit, bike paths and green spaces.
“It’s about building smart and living well,” Holmes said. “Healthy homes in a healthy community. We’re working with the land and building homes that make sense — for homeowners and the environment.”
The units will feature nine-foot ceilings, engineered hardwood floors, solid wood cabinets and quartz stone countertops, in addition to concrete floors and PinkWood exterior walls for added building longevity. They will also be outfitted with the latest in energy efficiency, including Energy Star-rated appliances and low E argon gas filled windows.
Holmes’ company will oversee all aspects of the community’s planning and development.
Pre-sale registration for the first phase begins on Saturday, with a sales event with Mike Holmes himself on September 21 at 661 Argue Street.
