Cyclist Dies After Collision with Transit Bus

Winnipeg Police CrestA 51-year-old woman was killed Sunday night after being struck by a transit bus while riding her bicycle.

The collision happened at around 10:15 p.m. in the area of Manitoba Avenue and McGregor Street.

Winnipeg police say the woman was travelling eastbound in the back lane between Magnus Avenue and Manitoba Avenue. She turned north into the southbound lanes of McGregor Street and was hit by a southbound transit bus.

The woman was taken to hospital in critical condition where she later died. Her name isn’t being released.
