A nine-day art festival put on by the University of Winnipeg will highlight their large visual art collection, rare books, ancient artifacts and historic letters.
The inaugural ArtsFest will run from September 27 to October 5 and feature Theatre Projects Manitoba, Virtuosi Concerts (Winnipeg’s international recital and chamber music concert series), the Downtown Jazz Band, and the UWSA Freestyle Festival.
Tony Award winner Len Cariou will kick off the festival with a wine and cheese gala featuring an art auction and cabaret on the 27th.
The gala opener will take place at 6:30 p.m. and will be co-hosted by Cariou and renowned Manitoba artist Wanda Koop. Tickets to the gala evening are $125 (with $75 tax receipt).
