Festival du Voyageur LogoYou don’t have to wait until February to get into the spirit of Festival du Voyageur.

The festival is throwing an outdoor picnic in the heart of St. Boniface on Saturday, September 28 and is encouraging the public to come out and wear their ceintures fléchées (voyageur sashes).

The picnic in the sculpture garden located at 219 Provencher Boulevard will include food and free musical performances by Alexandre Belliard and Pierre Freynet.

Costumed interpreters from Fort Gibraltar will also be part of the action to bring the voyageurs’ past back to life.

The picnic is free, with the exception of food, which will be available for purchase on site. Festivities run from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
