A high-speed police pursuit in the Maples ended with multiple people being sent to hospital on Saturday night.
Winnipeg police spotted a Toyota Camry being operated erratically while in the area of Jefferson Avenue and Sheppard Street at around 10:25 p.m. Attempts to stop the vehicle were unsuccessful when the driver sped away at a high rate of speed, ignoring traffic lights and putting public safety at risk.
Police caught up to the Camry when it collided with a Nissan Altima at the intersection of Maberley Road and Mapleglen Drive. The impact from the crash sent the Altima to strike a home in the 100 block of Mapleglen Drive.
The 18-year-old woman who was the passenger in the Camry sustained life-threatening injuries. The 27-year-old man driving the Altima is in stable condition, along with the suspect driving the Camry.
Brandon Linsangan, 19, faces numerous charges and remains in police custody.
