Former Beausejour Funeral Home Operator Charged with Fraud

RCMP Crest LogoThe former operator of Russell’s Funeral Home in Beausejour is facing 25 counts of fraud dating back to 2003.

RCMP charged Harvey Giesbrecht, 53, on Monday under allegations he collected payment for prearranged funerals but failed to deliver on the services.

Giesbrecht, a former resident of Beausejour and now residing in Alberta, has been charged with 18 counts of fraud under $5,000, and seven counts of fraud over $5,000 that span between October 2003 and July 2009.

Giesbrecht will appear in Beausejour court on October 22.
