The CEO of Bethania Group personal care homes has been let go after an independent review.
The investigation began after allegations surfaced about staff intimidation and nepotism surrounding CEO Ray Koop. The review also looked into the fact that Koop was allowed to retire, collect a pre-retirement payout and was then rehired the next day.
Concordia Hospital COO Les Janzen will remain in the interim CEO position at Bethania Group while the board of directors continue their search for a permanent replacement.
“High-quality resident care is paramount for the staff at Bethania and I’m pleased this report recognizes the great care front-line staff at Bethania provide every day,” said Health Minister Theresa Oswald. “We support the board in its decisions and are pleased we were able to work together to come to this resolution.”
