The coffee maker at Agape Table has kicked the bucket and now those who run the Winnipeg emergency food shelter need a new one.
Staff are asking for a large industrial coffee maker capable of serving hundreds of cups of coffee per hour.
“Each morning, many of our served community members come in from the cool October nights desperate for that cup first of joe,” spokesperson Laurel Martin said. “Many of them have spent the night on the street and need something warm to drink. Many other of our served community have a place to sleep, but don’t have enough money to buy the coffee/tea and morning meal that they get at Agape Table.”
The cost of a new coffee maker is about $3,000. A refurbished maker can be purchased for $1,800.
