Bisons, Thunderbirds Meeting in Last Home Game of the Season

October 3, 2013 8:16 AM | Sports

Sitting at 3-2 for the season so far, the Manitoba Bisons football team are looking to make the most of their final three games this year heading into the weekend.

Fresh off a 34-15 win at home against the Regina Rams last week, the tenth-ranked Bisons are hoping the momentum plays in their favour when the UBC Thunderbirds (2-3) visit Investors Group Field on Saturday.

“In significance of a win, it was critical to get to six points in the tight Canada West conference,” head coach Brian Dobie said after reflecting on last week’s victory.

Bisons’ RB Anthony Coombs leads the conference in all-purpose yards with 1,119 and second with eight overall TDs while QB Jordan Yantz is second in Canada West passing with 1,546 yards and first with 15 TDs.

The game also marks the last on home turf for the Bisons as they set Saskatchewan and Alberta in their sights to wrap up their regular schedule and find a spot in the Canada West post-season.

Game time is 1 p.m. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster.
