A vehicle stolen in Moosomin, Saskatchewan was used to ram a RCMP cruiser in the RM of Sifton on Thursday.
Manitoba RCMP were on patrol on Highway 1 near PR 254 when they noticed a 2009 Ford Expedition travelling eastbound at a high rate of speed.
The SUV failed to stop when pursued by police and sped through the community of Oak Lake. The Expedition eventually met a dead end road and made a U-turn, at which time the driver collided head-on with police.
A 24-year-old man of no fixed address was treated in Virden hospital for his injuries and released back into police custody. The officer involved received minor injuries.
Numerous charges are pending against the man.
