The Winnipeg Humane Society is nearly full with cats again after giving them away for free several weeks ago.
There are more than 270 cats in the shelter currently, leaving only 30 spaces left for those yet to be dropped off.
The WHS says it typically sees more cats in the hot summer months and during the winter, but a recent spike in the feline population has the shelter bursting at its seams year-round.
A subsidized spay and neuter assistance program is available for low income pet owners. Appointments can be arranged by calling (204) 888-SNAP.
There are currently 166 cats up for adoption at the Winnipeg Humane Society.
