Cutbacks and increasing costs of amateur swimming in the province has triggered the sports community to come together for a fundraiser next month.
Swim Manitoba is hosting Hops Cuisine — a gourmet beer and food event in support of provincial para and able-bodied swimmer development in Manitoba. It’s the the second year of the event, which takes place Thursday, November 7 at the Winnipeg Winter Club beginning at 6:30 p.m.
“Fundraising plays an important role for all non-profit organizations. In sport, we are thankful for the generosity of Manitobans who contribute financially to help keep many of our programs running,” said Jeff Hnatiuk, president and CEO of Sport Manitoba.
The event will feature a sample selection of fine beers followed by a four-course gourmet meal with beer pairings prepared by Chef Craig of Urban Prairie Cuisine. Individual tickets are $125 plus GST and/or a table of eight for $800 plus GST. Tickets can be purchased in advance by credit card online or by contacting Swim Manitoba at (204) 925-5778.
