Agape Table to Serve Up Thanksgiving to City’s Homeless

October 10, 2013 9:00 AM | News

Agape TableThose who don’t have a home to enjoy Thanksgiving dinner this weekend will still be able to sit down for a home-cooked meal at Agape Table.

The West Broadway agency is opening its doors to the city’s homeless community on Friday morning. Guests to All Saints Church at 175 Colony Avenue will begin arriving at 8 a.m. for the 9 a.m. meal.

“As the cold winter months approach — when thousands in Winnipeg who struggle with homelessness and hunger find it additionally challenging to keep warm, safe and fed — Agape Table’s role in Winnipeg becomes increasingly significant,” the agency said in an e-mail.

Providing a hot Thanksgiving meal has been an annual tradition for Agape Table.
