Winnipeg HarvestA pair of Manitoba Olympians are meeting the hard-working, dedicated volunteers at Winnipeg Harvest today.

As part of the 27th annual Share Your Thanks food drive, Olympians Rhiannon Leier Blacher and Michelle Lischinsky Huber are helping out Harvest sort all of the food that is being donated ahead of Thanksgiving.

From noon to 2 p.m., the aquatic athletes will pitch to stock shelves that replenishes food from the dip in donations during summertime and helps for the upcoming holidays.

Last year, 115,008 pounds of donations were raised to Winnipeg Harvest during the Thanksgiving season. This was matched pound-for-pound by Peak of the Market and Canada Safeway.

The food drive is taking place at Harvest’s headquarters, 1085 Winnipeg Avenue, beginning at 10 a.m.
