Man Charged in Car-Train Crash in Windsor Park

Winnipeg Police CrestA man is facing several charges after a car collided with a train on Saturday night.

The crash happened just before 10 p.m. in the area of Archibald Street and Fermor Avenue.

Winnipeg police say the man was driving a Mazda3 when the signal crossing lights began to flash. The driver attempted to beat the train, but struck the second engine.

Adam Norton, 29, was arrested and remains in police custody.

Norton has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to comply with conditions of an undertaking, driving while disqualified, and failing to stop at a railway crossing.

No one was injured.
