October 14, 2013 9:45 AM | News

City of WinnipegA new traffic signal meant for emergency vehicles will begin operating on Tuesday on Portage Avenue at Route 90.

The signal is to accommodate emergency personnel exiting the new Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Station #11 under construction in the area more quickly and safely.

A sign is mounted below the traffic signal to indicate the direction from which the fire truck/emergency vehicle would enter the roadway. The signal can only be activated as required by operators of emergency equipment leaving the station for emergency calls.
