University of Manitoba Sees Spike in Fall Graduates

Convocation - GraduationStudents at the University of Manitoba will accept their diplomas today and Thursday during the 46th fall convocation.

A total of 1,364 students will take part in convocation ceremonies over the two-day period at Investors Group Athletic Centre. The university is graduating about 8.6 percent more students than this time last year.

In addition, the U of M will award historian Margaret Conrad and Abdo (Albert) El Tassi, president and CEO of Peerless Garments, with honourary degrees.

Each ceremony will begin at 3:30 p.m. and be streamed live at UManitoba.ca.
