Former NHL hockey player and childhood sexual abuse victim Theo Fleury is travelling across Canada to promote a message of healing.

Fleury, in support of his new book and documentary, “Playing With Fire,” will be in Winnipeg on November 28 with renowned therapist and author Kim Barthel. The two will speak at the Metropolitan Entertainment Centre as part of a day-long session called Breaking Free through Healing Conversation: Moving Beyond Sexual Abuse and Trauma.

Fleury’s mission in life since his professional hockey career ended has been to use his experience to help others move beyond the veil of shame and raise awareness of childhood sexual abuse.

Tickets to the intimate event are $195 plus tax, with $50 from each ticket sold going to Winnipeg’s Aulneau Renewal Centre, which specializes in trauma and healing processes.
