Wine connoisseurs will flock to The Forks this weekend for the International Wine Festival of Manitoba.

Celebrating its 22nd anniversary, the festival runs today through Sunday, October 20, featuring wines from across the globe surely to satisfy any palate. Festival-goers will also get to try a wide variety of Cognacs and aperitifs and then buy a bottle of what they prefer in centre court.

“Our hope is that if you find a wine you love you can simply take a few steps and purchase it,” said Mo Razik, owner of Fenton’s Wine Merchants and organizer of the festival. “It’s wonderful introducing people to a new wine or brandy they may not have tried before.”

There will also be live jazz by local artists, seminars, and wine experts will be on hand all weekend to offer tasting suggestions.

Admission is free, while tasting tickets are 50 cents each. Net proceeds will be donated to Winnipeg Harvest.

The festival runs today from 5-9 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6:30 p.m.
