The city is asking for public input on developing new pedestrian and cycling strategies.

Urban Systems Ltd. will be working with the city to promote walking and cycling as a safe, viable and attractive transportation choice. The first phase of strategies have been completed, which included preparing demographic and neighbourhood profiles, travel patterns, creating an inventory of all existing pedestrian and cycling facilities, and identifying best practices and lessons learned from the development of strategies in similar cities.

The second phase calls for engaging the public to address short- and long-term walking and cycling needs.

To provide input, visit WalkBike.Winnipeg.ca, or e-mail walkbike@winnipeg.ca. A telephone survey and public open houses will also be utilized as methods of engagement in the coming weeks.

Input will be used to determine how the city develops future walking and cycling infrastructure in Winnipeg.
