Officials in Rapid City are picking up the pieces after a fire destroyed the town’s office and firehall overnight.
The blaze began at around midnight Monday and also engulfed two recently-purchased fire trucks. A rescue wagon was able to be saved from the fire.
No one was hurt in the blaze and damage estimates are still being tallied. RCMP say damage caused is extensive.
Plans were already in the works to build a new firehall in next few years.
Rapid City is located about 240 kilometres west of Winnipeg, just north of Brandon.
UPDATE: The cause of the fire has been deemed electrical.
