Four people were taken to hospital on Tuesday morning after a single-vehicle rollover east of Portage la Prairie.

The crash on Highway 1 happened just before 8 a.m. when a 2005 Toyota RAV4 travelling westbound lost control and rolled into the ditch. RCMP say the crash was due to icy road conditions at the time near the Assiniboine River bridge.

The four people in the SUV — all from Winnipeg — were treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The highway reopened to traffic about 90 minutes later.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.
