The Winnipeg Goldeyes have been chosen to host the 2014 American Association All-Star Game at Shaw Park.
The two-day event will begin Monday, July 28 with a fan fest event and skills competition in the evening, followed on July 29 with the all-star luncheon and youth skills camp in the afternoon. The 2014 American Association All-Star Game is set for later in the day at 7 p.m.
“We are thrilled to be able to host our fellow American Association teams for this great event,” Goldeyes general manager Andrew Collier said. “Our staff is working hard to ensure it will be a marquee event in downtown Winnipeg this summer for our fans to enjoy.”
It’s the third time the organization has hosted the mid-summer classic, having done so for the Northern League in 2001 and 2008. It’s also the first all-star game since 2010 that the American Association will hold.
Goldeyes season ticket holders will receive a ticket to the fan fest, skills competition and all-star game as part of their 2014 ticket package, while Goldeyes nine-game mini pack holders will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for all-star events before the general public.
