A first-year University of Winnipeg student has received the $25,000 Buhler Bursary in Business and Economics.
Aimee Hartley, 18, has overcome obstacles to attend the U of W and credits her grandmother with instilling in her the desire to pursue excellence and further her dreams. Hartley hopes one day to use her business education to own a health and beauty salon.
“I could not believe it when I heard. I was in shock,” Hartley said. “Without this bursary I would need to work a surplus amount of hours outside of school to support myself, now I can exert all my time to my studies. This bursary is a major help.”
The bursary will support her for four years of study in Business Administration as long as she maintains a 3.5 grade point average.
