November signals the start of a month-long cultural celebration at The Forks.
Many Worlds Festival kicks off Saturday with Fashions of the World, made up of a mix of modern and traditional fashions from around the globe. Entertainment each weekend will include dance and traditional music with everything from Irish and Scottish Dancers to African drumming and steel orchestras.
“We have such a cultural mosaic of family owned businesses and restaurants here in The Market and we wanted to find a way to show that off to the public,” said Andrea Clow, The Forks’ assistant general manager. “Many of our tenants are first generation Canadians and their business reflects their cultural heritage.”
From November 23-24, visitors can also sample worldly foods found in The Forks with their own tasting passport, along with themed wine and cheese evenings made up of French and Italian wines.
