Manitoba RCMP have seized a large quantity of the painkiller fentanyl, which they say is being used illegally by drug addicts.
On November 1, police arrested four people for possession and/or trafficking the drug in the Steinbach area.
Dean Barker, 46, his spouse Tanya Bell, 39, their son Kyle Barker, 19, and Kris Fast, 31, are all facing charges.
Police also seized a sawed-off semi-automatic rifle, a blow gun and a push dagger from the Barker’s home in the RM of Hanover.
Police believe the arrests will significantly minimize the availability of fentanyl and reduce over doses and threats to the community.
