What’s Open and Closed on Remembrance Day

Remembrance Day Parade

For Monday, November 11:

Shopping Centres
Kildonan Place — 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
St. Vital Centre — 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Polo Park — 1 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Liquor Marts
All Manitoba Liquor Marts will be open from 1 p.m. until regular closing hours on November 11, with the exception of cityplace which will be closed for the day and Brandon West End Express which will close at 9 p.m. Dining rooms and veterans’ associations clubs may commence liquor service at 12 p.m. All other licensed premises may begin serving liquor at 1 p.m.

Assiniboine Park Zoo and Conservancy
Open 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The Nature Playground will operate from 8 a.m. to dusk.

Winnipeg Art Gallery
Open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

The Manitoba Museum
Open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Civic Offices

Winnipeg Transit
On November 11, Winnipeg Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule. At 11 a.m., transit operators will be pulling over and stopping their buses at safe locations to recognize one minute of silence. Also in honour of Remembrance Day, and for the first time, the route/destination signs on all buses have been programmed to display “LEST WE FORGET” during the moment of silence.

Recycling/Garbage Collection
Single-family homes
There is no recycling, garbage or yard waste collection on Monday, November 11 at single-family homes or apartments. Collection will be one day later for all customers, for the week of November 11 only:

Monday collection moves to Tuesday, November 12
Tuesday collection moves to Wednesday, November 13
Wednesday collection moves to Thursday, November 14
Thursday collection moves to Friday, November 15
Friday collection moves to Saturday, November 16

Brady Road Landfill

Leisure Centres
All Leisure Centres will be closed on Monday, November 11.

Swimming Pools
All City of Winnipeg indoor swimming pools will be closed on Monday, November 11 with the exception of Pan Am Pool and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex. Pan Am Pool will be open 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the Cindy Klassen Recreation Complex will be open 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

All Winnipeg Public Libraries will be closed on Monday, November 11.

Animal Services Agency

Cemetery grounds at Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries will be open for visitation from dawn till dusk over the Remembrance Day long weekend including Monday, November 11, however, cemetery offices will be closed that day.
