Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre
The Victoria Inn Hotel and Convention Centre is undergoing a 22,000-square-foot expansion, and that’s welcome news for the nearby James Richardson International Airport.
“It’s encouraging to see development around the airport campus to now include additional capacity for meetings, trade shows and conventions,” said Barry Rempel, president and CEO of Winnipeg Airports Authority. “Grouping complementary services together creates real employment and economic benefits for our community.”
New hotels and other development have been sprouting up around the airport since its new air terminal building opened in October 2011.
The airport contributes the growth to its Airport City/Connected City development model, which coordinates regional planning to leverage the airport’s location, traffic, capacity and connectivity to grow employment through enhanced economic activity.
