A teen who may have jumped from the Osborne Bridge into the river on Saturday is the focus of a police investigation.
At around 8:30 p.m., Winnipeg police received a report of a male in his late teens running through traffic in the area of Jubilee Avenue and Osborne Street. He was then reported to have jumped from the bridge into the Red River.
A water search was conducted in the immediate area, but was suspended until daylight resumed. The WPS Underwater Search and Recovery Unit will be attempting further search operations today, conditions permitting.
The alleged jumper is described as Asian or aboriginal in appearance between the ages of 16 and 19. He was short in height with a small build, with short black hair, wearing a dark blue windbreaker and possibly carrying a backpack.
