Woman Charged in Apartment Stabbing on Portage Avenue

Winnipeg Police CrestWinnipeg police have charged a 32-year-old woman in relation to a homicide Friday night in St. James.

Police were called to the Capri Apartment building in the 2100 block of Portage Avenue around 9 p.m. after a man had been stabbed. Officers found three people suffering from various injuries.

A 32-year-old woman and 42-year-old man were taken to hospital in stable condition. A third victim — 39-year-old Brandon Lee How — suffered upper body injuries and later died in hospital.

Dawn Marie McFAdyen of Winnipeg has been charged with second-degree murder and remains in custody.
