The Tower of Toys will begin taking shape at The Forks today for another holiday season.
The 13th annual charity event supports the Christmas Cheer Board by accepting new, unwrapped toy donations to distribute to less fortunate children in the city.
“It’s really wonderful to watch the tower grow higher and higher as the holiday spirit captures the hearts of visitors to The Forks,” said Joyce Gittins, chair of the Tower of Toys campaign.
“Last year we sent 925 toys valued at over $20,000 to the Christmas Cheer Board, our largest amount yet, and this year we hope to contribute even more. It’s our hope that we can help make Christmas a little merrier for Winnipeg kids.”
The campaign kick off will happen at 10:30 a.m. near the tower elevator at The Forks.
