A musical open house at Agape Table today will feature music of the late Stompin’ Tom Connors.
From 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., local musicians will perform at the West Broadway agency. Performers include Troy Westwood, Rusty Matyas of Imaginary Cities, Lloyd Peterson, Richard Gillis of the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra, folk singer Johsa Manzanilla and Gaia Moravcik on mandolin.
Besides Stompin’ Tom, musicians will also channel songs from Gordon Lightfoot and Neil Young.
The open house will be held at 175 Colony Avenue at Broadway (All Saints’ Church). The event acts as an opportunity to tour the facility, drop off warm clothing or food donations, and to continue the dialogue on ways to address hunger and homelessness in Winnipeg.
