To get fans pumped up for the December 1-8 curling event, the party will begin with FanFest on Saturday, November 30.
“FanFest is curling’s version of the tail-gate parties we see for football games across Canada and the United States,” said host chair Mitch Tarapasky. “But our party is a little different… it’s designed to make sure there’s fun for the entire family, and it’s all indoors, so you don’t have to worry about the weather.”
FanFest will include prize draws, the opportunity to enter the ‘Passport to Vegas’ promotion with a trip on the line to the 2014 World Financial Group Continental Cup January 16-19 in Las Vegas, as well as face painting for the kids, mascots and an Olympic medal display. Fans will also be able to square off against CTV personalities to try their skills at street curling on a 32-foot sheet of synthetic ice.
The free event will be held on the concourse of MTS Centre from noon to 3 p.m.
The 2013 Tim Hortons Roar of the Rings will see Canada crown its men’s and women’s representatives for the 2014 Olympic Games. Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and Curling.ca.
