A three-year-old male polar bear from Churchill will make his public debut on Saturday.

The Assiniboine Park Zoo is introducing Storm on November 30 at the International Polar Bear Conservation Centre (IPBCC).

The bear arrived to Winnipeg on October 10 after being found within the town of Churchill in early September.

“Storm is a great bear and we’re very excited for him to meet the public this weekend,” said Dr. Brian Joseph, director of zoological operations. “Yesterday we introduced him to Hudson for the first time, and there’s no doubt that the two of them are going to be great friends.”
