The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have announced Danny McManus and Ted Goveia as the team’s assistant managers.
McManus will also take on the role as director of U.S. scouting, while Goveia’s duties will include being the director of player personnel.
“Danny and Ted have very strong ties to both the U.S. and Canadian scouting ranks and will oversee all of our scouting in both countries, as well as see an increased role in our football operations,” said Bombers’ general manager Kyle Walters. “We’re very excited to add a wealth of CFL knowledge to our staff and extensive experience in recruiting the type of players who will be successful in the Canadian Football League.”
McManus joins the Blue Bombers after spending the past three seasons as the Hamilton Tiger-Cats head U.S. scout. He also spent 2009 and 2010 as the Ti-Cats Southeast regional scout.
Goveia spent the 2013 season with the Toronto Argonauts as director of player personnel, overseeing scouting throughout both the United States and Canada, as well as the coordination of the CFL Canadian Draft.
Drew Morris will stay on with the Blue Bombers in an expanded role as a national scout.
