The Maryland Bridge will be taken over by angels later this morning.

The 18th annual Angel Squad will be out this week raising funds for the Misericordia Health Centre Foundation.

From 7:30-9 a.m. today, costumed angels will be out collecting donations. The campaign will continue during the same times on Wednesday and Thursday. The goal is to raise $60,000 to replace the chairs and bedside tables for at least 50 residents in our interim-care unit.

All donors receive a Starbucks beverage, baked treat, and a copy of the Winnipeg Free Press.

New this year, angels will also be out from 3:30-5:30 p.m. today at Shaftesbury Park Retirement Residence (905 Shaftesbury Blvd.) and Seine River Retirement Residence (1015 St. Anne’s Rd.) where they will be joined by neighbouring school student volunteers and local dignitaries.

On Wednesday, angels will be at Starbucks at 201 Portage and Winnipeg Square, joined by the Sisters of the Holy Rock carolling from 7:30-8 a.m.

Donations can also be made by calling (204) 22-ANGEL (6435) and online at misericordiafoundation.com.
