Manitobans living with cancer have two new ways of receiving treatment and support more quickly.
The newly-opened Urgent Cancer Care Clinic at CancerCare Manitoba and the Cancer Helpline were announced by Health Minister Erin Selby on Wednesday.
Selby said the clinic and Cancer Helpline will connect patients and their families with health professionals with expertise in cancer and emergency care.
Patients can visit the clinic Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but hours will be extended to include evening and weekend care once the service ramps up. Since opening two weeks ago, the clinic has seen 123 patients.
The helpline — which has already taken 92 calls — can be reached at (204) 787-8900.
