Winnipeg police have arrested a man in connection to a sexual assault that took place more than 10 years ago.
A 26-year-old woman was sexually assaulted on October 4, 2003 by two men in the 100 block of Princess Street. Police say the victim was pulled into an alley during the assault, and later robbed of her personal belongings.
DNA evidence collected at the time did not register a match in the RCMP national DNA data bank. This October, police were notified that a DNA match had been confirmed.
Justin Crow, 34, was arrested at the Headingley Correctional Centre on Tuesday while serving time on an unrelated matter.
He was returned to custody and is awaiting a court appearance.
Anyone with information regarding the second suspect is asked to contact investigators at (204) 986-6245 or Crime Stoppers at (204) 786-TIPS (8477).
