Agape Table has put the call out for winter clothing donations, seeking warm winter boots, socks and jackets.
The shelter provides meals to the city’s homeless and serves breakfast to more than 250 people daily coming from the nearby West Broadway and downtown vicinity, as well as the North End.
“There is a growing number of people in Winnipeg, including the working poor, who can’t afford to pay their rent and have enough to eat — and for them, warm clothing is a luxury,” said executive director Martina Richter. “Donations of men’s and ladies’ winter jackets, hats, scarves, mitts, socks and winter boots will be put to very good use at Agape Table.”
Donations can be dropped off weekday mornings at Agape Table, 175 Colony Street, located in the All Saints’ Church.
