Four people are facing charges after drugs and weapons were seized from two Elmwood area homes over the weekend.
Winnipeg police pulled over a vehicle on Saturday in the area of Thames Avenue and Watt Street as part of an ongoing drug investigation. Three people — a 39-year-old man, 30-year-old woman and 15-year-old boy — were arrested and taken into custody.
A search warrant was then executed on two homes in the 500 block of Chalmers Avenue. A 21-year-old woman was located inside one of the residences and arrested.
Police located 12 oz. of meth worth $90,000, 2.5 pounds of marijuana worth $7,500, and an additional 25 grams of marijuana. A cache of weapons was also found, including two sawed-off rifles, two assault rifles, a hunting rifle, shotgun, several hundred rounds of ammunition, throwing knives, two pairs of brass knuckles, and an eight ball. Police also seized digital scales, several cell phones, and drug-related paraphernalia.
The four arrested face numerous charges.
A fifth suspect remains wanted by police as the investigation continues.
